I had competed at the highest levels in reining for years winning an NRHA Reserve World Championship and competing in the 2010 and 2018 World Equestrian Games for Australia.
So it followed that I used to train high-level reining horses with horsemanship principles that I had discovered and developed over the years.

Fundamentals
Before your horse can change, Warwick shares his Perspective and invites you to learn more about it in the Fundamentals. In the Fundamentals Learning Path and Playlists, we’ll work on:

Attunement
Attunement is the sense of being seen, being heard, feeling felt and getting gotten (credit: Sarah Schlote). There are little things that you can do everyday that will increase your horse's trust and build a solid relationship before the actual training begins (this step makes training MUCH easier later). In this step, we cover Hanging Out, Matching Steps, Change in Focus, Creating Connection Under Time Constraints, and Solving Separation Anxiety.
Groundwork
After we spend time listening and responding, building a strong Connection, then we can ask our horse's for what we want to accomplish with them. This starts on the ground, in the safest place possible. You aren't just doing groundwork for the sake of it, you are installing tools that will carry over to the ridden work. Warwick's 4 Basic Groundwork Exercises teach your horse how to respond to your asks, your energy, pressure on leadrope (which is your rein later) while installing other necessary tools that help you in every situation.
